What is Hooks?
Hooks is a collaborative workspace for songwriters, producers, and artists. You can co-write lyrics in real time, keep ideas and project versions in one place, set songwriting splits with each collaborator's approval, and export a professional split sheet PDF.
Is Hooks free?
Yes. The core features are free to use. Optional paid plans add tools like the AI co-writer, more demo uploads, audio in projects, and lyric translation in your PDF exports. You can see the current plans and pricing inside the app.
How do I create an account?
Open the app and tap Sign Up. You can register with your email and a password, or use Sign in with Apple. If you register with email, we'll send you a verification link to confirm your address.
I didn't receive my verification email
First, check your spam or junk folder. You can also tap "Resend email" on the verification screen. If it still doesn't arrive after a few minutes, email us at support@writinghooks.app and we'll verify your account manually.
How do subscriptions and billing work?
All paid plans are purchased and billed securely through your Apple ID using the App Store. To view, change, or cancel a subscription, open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. Refund requests are also handled through Apple.
How do song splits work?
Inside a project, each collaborator is assigned a percentage and approves their own share. Once everyone has approved, you can export a professional split sheet PDF that includes roles and IPI/CAE numbers, ready to file with your PRO.
Can I upload audio to a project?
Yes, audio upload in projects is available on the Label plan. You can attach reference tracks and demos directly to the project so everything stays in one place.
What languages does Hooks support?
Hooks is available in six languages: English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, French, Korean, and Japanese. You can also export split sheets with lyrics translated for international pitching.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Delete Account. You'll confirm with your password, and your account along with your data will be permanently removed. If you need help, email support@writinghooks.app.
Is my data private?
Your private notes and idea vault are visible only to you, never to collaborators, unless you choose to share. For full details, see our Privacy Policy in the app.
